Organic cotton is farmed without synthetic agricultural agents like fertilizers or pesticides, using non-genetically modified plants, and in a way that has a low impact on the environment. Although organic cotton costs more than its conventional counterpart, the benefits outweigh these costs in the form of cleaner air, conserved water, purer soil, and fewer hazardous chemicals entering the local water systems.
